Who are we?

Bambox is a technology impact startup based in Tel Aviv, Israel founded by Roy Shihor, then a 23 years old data analyst.

Our mission

Redesigning the tissue roll to revolutionize its supply chain and accelerate the transition to sustainable paper.

Our story

While traveling, an encounter with a childhood friend revealed that in Eastern Asia, mainstream toilet paper is made of bamboo. Driven by passion for sustainable impact, with the plan to scale the use of bamboo instead of tree-based paper products, the attempt of importing the products faced a challenge as the costs, fuel and emissions of transporting the rolls just didn’t make sense.

Learning that the roll’s design hasn’t been changed for over 130 years, and that up to 70% of its space is wasted, Roy set out to redesign kitchen and toilet tissue roll to save space, preserve the usability of a roll yet to create a more comfortable product that’s softer, and lasts longer, and to modernize the design for the sustainability and supply chain needs of today.

By applying and connecting extreme analytical skills, and industrial design - Bambox deconstructed the tissue roll and reconstructed it as a box with the same functionality and compatibility of a roll, yet using all of its storage space, and solving its supply chain challenges.

Our vision

Impact the way we consume consumer products by redesigning their standard and defy norms.

We wish for the design of our unique products to initiate critical thinking of how our everyday is made to better our planets resources management.
